ISRAEL TO MAINTAIN
SMALL STANDING ARMY (11.30 a.m.) TEL AVIV, Mar. 8. The Prime Minister, Mr. D- BenGurion, outlining the Government’s defence programme, said that Israel would maintain a small standing army to defend her oorders. The Government’s main task was to lower the cost of living which was “a dangei from within no less than that which we faced from without.”
