School Closing: Parents’ Protest

At last night’s annual general meeting of the Mangapapa Parents’ Association a strong protest was voiced against the use of the Mangapapa School as a polling booth. The meeting decided that letters be sent to the Hawke’s Bay Education Board and to the Minister of Education expressing strong disapproval of the use of the school staff for electoral purposes and the loss of a complete day’s education by approximately 450 children.
