Electrician Killed In Crossing Smash

(P.A.) DUNEDIN, Mar. 4. Mr. George Moore, an electrician of Kaitangata, was killed instantly when the northbound express hit the truck he was driving at Stirling about 10 o’clock yesterday morning. His son, Ronald Moore, the only passenger in the truck, suffered injuries and shock. Mr. Moore attempted to cross in front of the express at the north end of the Stirling station. The engine hit the truck full on and wrecked it. The express was delayed 20 minutes. Mr. Moore was a member of the Otago Power Board for years and was chairman last term. He was recently elected to the Kaitangata Borough Council and was formerly a member of the South Otago Rugby Union.
