Aluminium-Capped Milk Bottles In Use

(P.A.) PALMERSTON N„ Mar. 3. Aluminium-capped milk bottles were used for the first time in New Zealand yesterday to supply school children in Palmerston North. The Palmerston treating house is the first in the Dominion to be equipped with machinery to handle this kind of container. The aluminiuri top covers the pouring lip of the Dottle, eliminating the possibility of contamination previously existing.

The new bottles are narrower in the neck than were the old, and do not have the flange at the top which had a tendency to become chipped. It is expected that they will be introduced to Palmerston’s general household supply next week.
