MANY CONTESTS FOR WOMEN BOWLERS

Various fixtures have occupied the attention of members of the Riverside Women’s Bowling Club over recent days including the Short Challenge Button games in which the holders, Mesdames J. Gilgren (s) and D. Watts defeated Mesdames T. Wells and R. Crack (s), 26-19.

‘ In the recent Anniversary Day tournament, fixed rinks were played. Eight teams took part and’ there were two teams in the play-off, Mesdames Nicholson, Adams, G. Corbett and Humphreys being defeated by Mesdames Henderson. Pyke, Gilgren and Hanna. On leads and twos day there were three teams with four wins each. Mesdames Tennent and Kelly drew the bye. Mesdames Wells and Robertson defeated Mesdames Munro and Twigley and in the finals Mesdames Tennent and Kelly defeated Mesdames Wells and Robertson.
