TOO MANY CHILDREN LEFT TO BABY-SITTERS

SYDNEY. Many American mothers no longer bothered about the upbringing of their young children, but left them with baby-sitters, said Mr. William Harris, an American, who arrived here recently. For two years he was “Pop and Mum” custodian at an American Methodist youth centre for underprivileged children, providing recreational and religious amenities for a reasonable fee. The American teen-ager often did not have the benefit of parental control and was becoming uncontrollable, said Mr. Harris.
