EARL BALDWIN MAY NOT RETURN TO LEEWARD ISLES

Authoritative quarters stated last night that Earl Baldwin, Governor of the Leeward Islands, who has been recalled for consultations will not be returning, says the Daily Mail. Earl Baldwin this morning will have a further interview with the Colonial Secretary, Mr. A. Crcech-Jones. Earl Baldwin, after an interview with Mr, Creech-Jones on' Monday went on to the House of Commons to see some of his friends who are interested in his case. The Daily Mail’s political correspondent said there is no doubt that Earl Baldwin will have the support of a section of the Labour Party for following the Socialist policy as Governor of the Leeward Islands. . The Daily Express says that Earl Baldwin is taking the line .that in the governorship of the Leeward Islands he “applied socialism and was framed by the sugar barons.” 'The newspaper prophesied a firstclass political row over Earl Baldwin.
