CARDINAL’S TRIAL “INFAMOUS” SAYS TRUMAN
(10 a.m.) WASHINGTON. Feb. 10. President Truman today denounced Hungary’s treatment of Cardinal Mindszenty as “infamous.” He described the trial as one of the black spots in Hungary’s history and a blot upon the nation. He said that an investigation was being made to determine whether the behaviour of the Hungarian Government constituted a violation of certain treaties. President Truman said the question of breaking off relations with Hungary had not been considered.
