NO WORK IN DUNEDIN

(P.A.) DUNEDIN. Feb. 10. No work was carried out on the wharves in Dunedin and Port Chalmers today as a protest against the inadequacy of the increase granted to the waterside workers by the Waterfront Industry Authority. After the conclusion of the monthly stop-work meeting at about 10.45 a.m., the Dunedin and Port Chalmers workers returned home.

There was no shipping activity in the port of Gisborne yesterday, and any discussions of the interim award which may have occurred did not affect work in the Gisborne Harbour Board’s sheds, where the usual volume of cargo movement was carried on.
