LAYING OF POISON

Pleading guilty to a charge of laying poison in a public place at Gisborne on September 30, 1948, Ethel Pritchard, School road, Mr. J. G. Nolan), was convicted and fined 10s by Mr. E. L. Walton. S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court in Gisborne yesterday.

Following complaints that a dog had been poisoned,' the defendant was interviewed and admitted having laid poison in her backyard, said SeniorSergeant G. S. Norris.

The defendant was ignorant of tha offence and had only laid the poison on her back doorstep for one night, said Mr. Nolan. The poison was subsequently removed and buried.
