German Goods Cheaper Than British
LONDON, Jan. 21
The Bipartite Board, the supreme occupation authority in the bizone of Germany, is investigating abnormal conditions in the British and American zones which have encouraged unfair competition between German and British goods, a Foreign Office spokesman announced today. Referring to the abnormal conditions, the spokesman said that certain imports into Germany, mainly foodstuffs, were not paid for by the German authorities at the full rate and the lower rate scales prevailing in Western Germany were a factor which made the cost of production of Some German goods below that of the equivalent of British products.
