STRONGMAN MINE RESUMES WORK

(P.A.) GREYMOUTH, Jan. 24. The Strongman State mine, which was idle on Friday following a dispute over the payment of trucking allowances to a pair of miners will resume work this morning. Yesterday a mass meeting of members of the Runanga State Miners’ Union unanimously resolved to accept an offer made by the Under-Secretary for Mines, Mr. C. H. Benney, to resume work and to open negotiations on the points at issue with him personally, tomorrow.

Mr. Benney will visit Greymouth to meet union representatives.
