SIXTY SHIPS WITH WAR SUPPLIES ON WAY TO PALESTINE

(9 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 21. Sixty merchantmen loaded with war materials are reported to be converging on Palestine, according to the Daily Mail.

It says that, although the British Navy is keeping a close watch on them, it is officially “not interested” since it is powerless to interfere. Most of the ships are flying the Panamanian flag and come from countries as far apart as Poland, the United States and Latin America.

Many have made recent calls at Eastern European ports.
