TWO CARS COLLIDE NEAR MCKAY’S BRIDGE: OCCUPANTS INJURED

When two cars collided on a bend near McKay’s bridge, Fuha, on Tuesday .evening the occupants of one of the vehicles received injuries which required medical attention. One car was also extensively damaged. Mr. Robert Baird, Matawai, was proceeding towards his home when just after crossing McKay’s bridge his vehicle and one driven by Mr. John Car-rington-Wellby, Wainui Beach, proceeding in the opposite direction, collided. Mr. Carrington-Wellby’s car ran off the road and-up a fairly steep bank, and then turned over, coming to rest upside down. The two occupants, Mr. •and Mrs. Carrington-Wellby, were abla to climb out of the car, which was badly damaged and later had to bs towed to Gisborne.

Mrs. Carrington - Wellby suffered slight concussion, while her husband escaped with abrasions. They received medical treatment on the spot, but were able later to proceed to their home.
