TAXATION REVIEW URGED: PLEA FOR COMMISSION

(P.A.) WELLINGTON. Jan. 21. The whole system of company taxation in New Zealand is now so complicated, so onerous and so restrictive of trade expansion and development that it requires a complete review by a royal commission, said the chairman of the directors of-the Gear Meat Company Limited, Mr. Stronach Paterson, at the annual meeting today. He added that there had been agitation for such a commission for some years and he hoped the Government would realise the tremendous handicap on industry and commerce that the present system imposed and appoint a commission at an early date for a complete review of taxation generally and company taxation in particular.
