Farewell Party. A pleasant gathering for the purpose of farewelling Mr. and Mrs. J H. Dark was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. N. B. T. Lovegrove Te Araroa. The function took the form of a musiscal evening Teams’ Visit. To play return softball matches, 40 Waio-matitini children, comprising four teams, visited Te Araroa. The home team won the A match, Waiomatitini won the B and C, and the D game resulted in a draw. The visiting teams were entertained to lunch by Te Araroa children. Functions at Hicks Hay. Following extensive repairs the reopening of tiic Anglican Church at Hicks Bay was marked by three public functions. Last Friday the formal reopening ceremony was conducted by the Rev. T.Wanoa. A very pleasant social function organised by the ladies' Iwi committee was held in the Hinemanurea Hall on Friday evening. Mr. Lon Thorne was the M. C. and music was supplied by Messrs Brown and Fox's orchestra. The proceeds were for financing a further re-opening celebration on Sunday when, following Divine service, a public dinner was held.

Young People's Rally. A successful Y. P. rally organised by the Te Araroa unit of the Salvation Army was held last week-end. Sunday school scholars from Kopuapounamu, Awatcre, Karakatuwhero and Te Araroa attended in full force. End of the Term Function.

Marking the end of the school year, functions were held at district schools. At Te Araroa class picnics were held in favourable weather and the staff col-laborated-with teachers of contributing schools in a very enjoyable afternoon party. At Hicks Bay and Whakiangiangi short breaking-up ceremonies were held. PsswardoMeldhattrtd Personal Notes. Mr. and Mrs. T. Idour, Dunedin, are visiting their aunt and uncle, Mrs. Abraham and Mr. J. N. Barbara, Te Araroa.—Mrs. H. B. Clover has returned to Auckland after spending a brief holiday with her sister, Mrs. G. Tamahori, Te Araroa. —Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Taylor are on vacation in Wanganui. Later they will go to Raetani. — Mr. and Mrs. N. B. T. Lovegrove have gone to Christchurch. —Mr. and Mrs. W. L. S. Britton are to visit relations in Wellington in the near future—Mr. F. Still is spending part of his vacation at Katikati.—A Gisborne artist. Miss Chris Watkins, has recently been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hart, Te Araroa.
