SHIP HITS WHARF AT WELLINGTON

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 22. Berthing in a high wind last night, the Union Steam Ship Company ship Wingatui twice struck the wharf before she could be safely tied up at her berth at Fryatt Quay. A gash was torn in the wharf fender, part of the concrete of the wharf was chipped, and the port side of the bow of the ship was slightly dented where she had struck. No serious damage was done to the ship.
