PARENTS ENTERTAINED BY PUPILS OF MAKAURI SCHOOL
Seventy parents and other friends, and ex-pupils of Makauri School were entertained at afternoon tea at the school this week after viewing a display of sewing, handwork and flower decorative classes.
A drill display was curtailed by a shower of rain, but the weather cleared to allow the judging by Mr. F. Keats, Waerenga-a-hika, of 10 calves in various classes-
The school committee supplied, ice cream for the children. Competition results were: Decorative classes. —Junior: Saucer, Robin Jenkinson, 1; Beverley Hansen, 2: Jennifer Kain and Jeanette Bolton, equal, 3. Vase, Robin Jenkinson, 1; Beverley Hansen, 2; Wiki Papuni. 3. Buttonhole, Robin Jenkinson, 1: Mary King, 2; Wiki Papuni, 3. Senior: Saucer, Amy King, 1: Doris Whitley, 2: Dawn Wallace, Barbara Watson and, Rene Robertson, equal. 3. Vase, Doris Whitley. 1: Marie Davis, 2: Rene Robertson. 3.
