CAR SALESMAN’S TIP
WASHINGTON, Nov. 21
A motor car salesman told a Congressional committee today that he expects a tip of from £155 up whenever he sells a car. “Salesmen all over the country do it.” he said. “I have to pay tips when I want something.” The committee is investigating questionable trade practices. It is estimated that buyers have been mulcted of £140,000,000 extra in buying new cars.
