MR. SEMPLE & ELECTION PROSPECTS

(P.A.)

AUCKLAND, Dec. 17.

Asked if he would be contesting the election next year, the Minister of Works, Mr. R. Semple,- was non-com-mittal in an interview in Auckland.

I-Ic said that if it was physically possible he would like to see the development schemes which he had outlined for the various districts in full swing before he retired from public life. Mr. Semple, who was born in Australia in 1873, was absent from the House of Representatives on occasions during the recent session of Parliament because of his health.
