Regent.—Tn “High Wall” Robert. Taylor has the high-tension role of Stephen Kent, who. after his wife is found strangled, is suspected of being an insane killer and is placed in the mental ward of a prison, where he goes through an agony of indecision until a series of gruelling tests made by Dr. Ann Lorrison (Audrey Totter), prove his sanity. Dorothy Patrick plays the murdered woman, and admirable performances are given by Herbert. Marshall # and H. B. Warner. Majestic.—Columbia’s “The Crime Doctor’s Gamble.” new screen adventure of a radio criminologist, screens today. Warner Baxter is staned with a supporting cast which includes Micheline Cheirel. Roger Dann, Steve Geray, Marcel Journet and Eduardo Cianuelli. The associate musical comedy, “Surge Goes To College,” stars June PreiSeer and Freddie Stewart. King’s.—" Forever Amber” is to be screened to Gisborne audiences today for the first time. The film version which keeps clear of phases which caused banning of the novel, is well presented and enhanced by Technicolour. Amber runs the gamut of serving maid to mistress of a king, and her colourful adventures are faithfully portrayed.
