VALUATION BODY WILL REPLACE SALES COMMITTEE
The Gisborne Land Sales Committee will cease to function as such as from December 31, after which the business conducted for the past three years by the committee will come under the jurisdiction of the Valuation Court.
Members of the existing committee have been notified, however, of their appointment as members of the district land valuation committee under the new legislation, and they will continue to conduct, under that designation, substantially the same business.
The personnel of the committee is: Messrs. H. D. Chrisp, chairman, F. H. Forge, and I. F. Watt, with Mr. A. T. Coleman as deputy-chairman. Mr. Coleman will have the same relation to the new land valuation committee.
All transactions dealing with land will require supervision and approval by the valuation committee, but it is not yet certain what other functions will be delegated to it by the Valuation Court. -It is expected that in normal sales and leasehold transactions the relations of applicants with the new valuation committee will be identical with those which have prevailed under the system now being replaced.
