SEVENTY ARRESTS CHECK RESISTANCE PLOT OF HINDUS
NEW DELHI. Dec. 8.
Police in Delhi and four other cities arrested 71 members of the militant Hindu organisation, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak after reports that it planned a civil resistance campaign in protest against the ban imposed on it after the assassination in January of Mahatma Gandhi. The Indian Government recently turned down a plea by the R.S.S. leaders that the ban be lifted. Thirty of the arrests were made in Delhi and others in towns in East Punjab and Lucknow.
