RUATORIA CRICKETER MAKES 67 NOT OUT
{Herald Uorfeßi>on<lent.) In a 2-day return match the Ruatoria cricket team avenged their defeat of the previous week by defeating R.S.A. with a margin of 64 runs. R.S A, went in first and L. Paine made top score for the side in both innings with 32 and 29. On both occasions his wicket was taken by P. Whangarpirita, the latter capping his performance with 67 not out for Ruatoria in the second innings. Next highest score was 63 by S. Reedy for Ruatoria in the first innings. The best bowling average was that of J. Crawford who took five Ruatoria wickets for 12 runs in the first innings.
In the first strike 13 R.S.A. batsmen made 103. A similar number of Ruatoria players compiled 125. the R.S.A. second innings yielded 136. Ruatoria proceeded to get the 114 runs required for victory and when stumps wore drawn the total was 178 with 11 wickets down.
