INTEREST TAKEN IN PATENTS PROCEDURE

WELLINGTON, Oct. 13.
The findings of the Patents Commission were awaited with keen interest by certain classes of the manufacturers and among the issue of the reorganisation of the patents office and its procedure in New Zealand was the burning question. This was stated by the secretary of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, Mr. D. I. MacDonald, in the course of a cross-examination by Mr. W. J. Sim, K.C., on behalf of the Radio Manufacturers’ Federation, before the Patents Commission today. Mr. MacDonald said he felt that, in tile general view of his organaistion, an inefficient patents office would hamper New Zealand industry.
