YEARS OF SEPARATION FROM RELATIVES ENDED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 5. Years of separation from close relatives were ended for several passengers on the Rakaia when she arrived at Wellington today from Liverpool. Looking forward to seeing his mother and three brothers for the first time in 22 years was Mr. J. Arthurs, formerly a foreman for the British Ministry of Works at Newcastle-on-T.vne. Mr. Arthurs plans to bring his wife and family to New Zealand later. There were a number of other imminent reunions.

A Pole. Flying Officer Z. Mowinski. arrived with his Blackpool wife and daughter in the hope of entering civil aviation in New Zealand His wartime commanding officer Wing Commander J M. Checketts D. 5.0., D.F.C (now commanding officei of the R.N.Z.A.F station in Fiji), was responsible for his wanting to come to New Zealand, said Flying Officer Mowinski The Rev. E. H. Morris, formerly of Southport, arrived in response to a call to the Unitarian Church, Ponsonby. Auckland.

Sub-Lieutenant D. C- Rose, R.N., formerly of H.M.S. Duke of York, will serve in H.M.N.Z.S. Bellona for two years on loan from the British Navy. The Rakaia brought 4G passengers and 4650 tons of general cargo, including motor cars, tractors and household fittings.
