INDIA URGED TO BUY BRITISH ASSETS

(10.10 am.) CALCUTTA, Oct. 5. Sarat Chandra Bose, a former Minister of Works in the Indian Government, suggested that the Prime Minister, Mr. Nehru, should negotiate the purchase of British assets and investments in India while in London for the conference of British Commonwealth Prime Ministers. The cost of these assets, Chandra Bose added, should be offset against sterling balances standing to India’s credit.
