Majestic.—A new "Cisco Kid” adventure screens today. It is “Beauty and the Bandit.” Gilbert Roland is the "Cisco Kid” who dodges the law and a lady and almost gets caught by both. The associate feature is a restful blend of comedy and music, “Freddie Steps Out,” with Freddie Stewart and June Preisser. The situations are hilarious and the musio by Charlie Barnet and Cherry Reyes is melodious. Episode two of "The Manhunt of Mystery Island” screens at 1.46 and 7.45. King’s.-—" Half Past Midnight.” a neatlyturned mystery thriller which employs the elements of danger, murder and romance to exciting advantage, begins today at the King's. Kent Taylor and Peggy Knudsen are starred in a cast which includes Joe Sawyer, Walter Sande, Martin Kosleck and Mabel Paige. "The Invisible Wall," the second attraction, concerns itself with the adventuies of a young ex-GI who, aa the contact man for a big-time bookmaker, is catapulted into an amazing adventure. - Regent.—The anguished emotions of a woman rejected by the man she loves furnishes the exciting story of Warner Bros. "Possessed," now at the Regent Ihentre. Joan Crawford and Van Heflin in co-stellar roleß, head the cast of the production which follows faithfully in the distinguished tradition of its two illustrious predecessors, > Mildred Fierce and "Humoresque." Essentially the story of an impassioned devotion that is transformed into an-overwhelmingly vengeful hate, the film has a competent supporting: cast, including Raymond Massey and Geraldine Btooks, a promising young screen newcomer.
