WOMEN BOWLERS: EAST COAST CLUBS’ DELEGATES MEET

At the annual meeting of the East Coast Women’s Bowling Centre, held recently in Hastings, Mrs. C. G. Wilkinson presided over an attendance which included Mesdames J. Sangwell C. Lloyd and C. McKay, delegates from the Riverside Bawling Club, Gisborne.

The election of officers resulted in the return of Mrs. Wilkinson as president, and Mrs. C. McKay, Gisborne, and Mrs. N. Taylor, Havelock North, as vice-presidents. Mrs. E. Martin, Heretaunga, was re-appointed hon, secretary and treasurer.

The meeting unanimously endorsed a proposal that the centre affiliate with the New Zealand Women’s Bowling Association, which was inaugurated last year and which already enjoyed a strong membership. The annual centre rinks tournament was allotted to the Heretaunga club, Hastings, and champion singles to the Havelock North club, and the champion pairs to Port Ahuriri. An open pairs tournament will be held in Gisborne, under the centre’s auspices, in January.
