The week-end tournament of the Te Puia Golf Club featured a keen match in the open championship final in which W. Sparks gained a narrow decision over F. Fenwick. Details follow;

Open Championship.—Final; W. Sparks d. F, Fenwick, one up. Flight final: L. R. Mathieson d. F. Jefferd, three and two.

Te Puia Handicap.—Final: R. C. Smyth d. J. R. Elliott, five and three. Flight final: G. Hassell d. D. Kirkham,

Stableford. —J. B. Jefferd, 35 points, on count back from H. D. Gardner. Four-ball Bogey. —R. C. Smyth and J. R. Elliott, eight up. J. H. Sutherland playing five below his handicap was the winner of the bogey match held on September 26 in which he was all square. The second round of the club championships and the third round of the Makarika Cup competition are to be played this week-end. The draw for the captain v. secretary teams’ match is: Mrs. J. W. Smith v. Mrs. N. Oates; Mrs. E. McMillan v. Mrs. G. Hassell; Mrs. E. Rouse v. Mrs. H. Gardner; Mrs. E. Vickers v. Mrs. H. McDowell; Mrs. P. McCallum v. Miss Elliott. In the final of the ladies handicap cup competition Mrs. J. W. Smith defeated Mrs. N. Oates, two and one.
