TE KARAKA NEWS

ANNUAL PARISH BALL (Herald CorreaponGenr,)

Nearly .300 people attended at the Waikohu Theatre lor the second annual parish ball organised by residents of the Tc Karaka parochial district. Spring flowers arranged against a background of shrubs on the walls were an effective decorative scheme, which was repeated on the orchestral dais. Mr A. D. Manuel was in charge of the dance programme, for which music was provided by Mr. J. Vagg’s orchestra, extras being contributed by Misses Peach and Hobbs. The supper-room presented an attractive scene with vases and troughs of flowers set out on the long tables.

Members of the social committee responsible for the main organisation of the ball included the Rev. P. H. and Mrs. Blakiston, Mr, and Mrs. D. G. Dymoclc, Mesdames J. D. Clark, E. Cranswick, and F. Jones, Misses V. Seamons and D. Holdswortli, Messrs. A. D. Manuel, A. 11. Thompson, G. Jones and J. Morris, whose work was considerably lightened by the assistance of many parishioners.
