U.S. TRAINED CHINESE TROOPS IN ACTION

An undisclosed number of Government troops trained by American military experts in Taiwan have gone into action in the Manchurian corridor in the past 24 hours as the Communist armies having tightly encircled the key city of Chinchow began a drive for the Great Wall city of Shanhaikwan. .. . This is the first time units of China’s new army which United States advisers have been helping to raise in training camps scattered throughout ■•China in the past year have been sent into battle, and reflects the seriousness of the Government’s position in this vital war sector.
