SILK AND GLADING BEATEN 12 AND 10

(11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 4. In a day of contrasting displays Australia and New Zealand each won the foursomes match in the golf test whicii began at the Royal Melbourne (west course) on Saturday.

The singles will be played today. Although Silk and Glading .were no match for A. N. Waterson and H. W. Hattersley and were defeated 12 and 10, Woon and' Hornabrook fought back courageously after being two down at the eighteenth to defeat W. A. Edgar and D. Bachli one up.
