U.S. Defers Decision On Withdrawal From Korea
(10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 1. The United States, in .a brief Note delivered to Moscow this week, told the Soviet that the question of the withdrawal of all occupation troops from Korea, was “part of the larger question of Korean unity and independence.” . The United States, at the appropriate time, would present its views on the entire issue to the United Nations General Assembly. The Soviet announced on September 19 it would withdraw its troops from North Korea by December 31 and suggested that the United States also withdraw from South Korea.
