WHEAT SHIP DISPUTE STILL UNSETTLED
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 30. The wheat ship Aldington Court, over which a fresh dispute has arisen, will not sail for Australia before tomorrow' afternoon. Rain showers have delayed unloading, and today 400 tons remained in the ship. The watersiders still refuse to work overtime. Their national president, Mr. H. Barnes, left for Wellington by air this morning for further discussions on the relationship between the union and the Waterfront Industry Commission. Shipping company officials said today that Mr. Barnes’ statement that they were sheltering behind the commission was unfounded. The position was that the unionists refused to attend meetings of the Port Committee, and the commission could not handle disputes until they had passed through the Port Committee.
