BALDNESS CURED WHEN VICTIM GOT A HOUSE
(11 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 30. A patient whose baldness was cured by the acquisition of a house is cited by Dr. F. IlcUier, dermatologist. at Leeds General Infirmary, in the October Issue of Tire Practitioner. Dr. Hcllier. stating that the claims of the successful treatment of patch baldness by the application of varnishes and hair tonics should be regarded cautiously. “The essential cause of patch baldness is psycvhological and the surest road to cure is by resolving the patient’s conflicts which are often superficial and readily exposed if the physician has time to listen sympathetically. A patient of mine revealed, after a few minutes’ talk, that he was fed up with living at his mother-in-law’s house and no doubt there wer® deeper conflicts lurking In his subconscious mind, but tho acquisition of a house of his own cured his depression and his patch of baldness.”
