TURANGANUI GOLF TITLE TAKEN FOR FOURTH SEASON

In the final of the senior championship of the Turanganui Golf Club P. Kaua defeated R. Halbert, thus gaining the title for the fourth successive season. Excellent conditions favoured the match. The title-holder showed allround superiority. He led, six-up, at the end of the first round of 18 holes and went on to take the decision comfortably by winning the next six.

There was a preponderance of Turanganui members at the closing of the Waikohu links during the week-end. Tlie visitors greatly enjoyed the occasion and expressed appreciation of the wonderful hospitality extended to them. E. Goodwin was declared the winner of the men's stableford on a recount from R. Rare, both having scored 36 points on Saturday. The L.G.U .medal competitions for women were won by Mrs. E. Dewes of A section and Mrs. U. Ivess of B section. The latter has qualified as an A player.

The programme for this week includes the teams match between women and men for the Good Cup on Saturday afternoon, and also a men’s match with the P.B. Club representatives at the Tuoi links at the week-end.
