THREE MEN FINED : MOTORING OFFENCES
Two motor-cyclists and a truck driver were prosecuted by the Transport Department’s traffic inspector, Mr. R. Metcalfe, in the Magistrate's Court in Gisborne yesterday. Fines were imposed by Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in each case.
Enerico Ernest Haydon was fined £l, with costs 10s, for having defective lights on his truck when stopped by the inspector at Makaraka on May 5. The left headlamp was only a glow and the defendant had no tail light on the truck, said the inspector. For having no warrant of fitness for the truck Haydon was fined 10s, with costs 12s.
A fine of 10s, with costs 12s, was imposed on Trevor George Morgan, who, while riding a motor-cycle at Whangara on December 12, 1947, was stopped by the inspector and found to have no warrant of fitness.
Another motor-cyclist, Carlton Joseph Rosoman, was fined .Cl, with costs 12s, for having no driver’s license. Rosoman had never had a license, said the inspector.
