CINEMA PATRONS OUTSTANDING NEWSREEL SERVICE That cinema goers of Gisborne are exceptionally well catered for with the early release of airmail news items is again clearly demonstrated with the screening at the Regent tomorrow of the first films of the tornado havoc at Hamilton—taken a few minutes after the event. It shows wrecked homes and shattered shops and aerial views of the devastated area. Also screening on the same programme is a Paramount Newsreel airmailed from America showing finals of the Olympics, notably heavyweight weight lifters in action and the finals in the Equestrian events. Other items in this topical newsreel include the tremendous welcome given to Mrs. Fanny Blankers-Koen. champion woman athlete upon her return to Holland and the strange case of the Soviet school teachers which recently gave local readers a week of sensational headlines. The abovementioned items will be screening during each session in conjunction with Paramount’s glamorous new look musical in technicolour “The Emperor Waltz,” costarring Joan Fontaine and Bing Crosby.*
