SCHOOLBOY FAILS TO SWIM CHANNEL
(11 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 31. A 17-year-old Yorkshire schoolboy, Philip Mickman, who attempted to swim the English Channel, abandoned his attempt after spending 12J hours in the water. The sea became too choppy to continue.
