DENTAL MECHANICS’ PETITION TO HOUSE

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1.

The New Zealand Dental Laboratories’ Association yesterday petitioned the House of Representatives for the right for registered dental technicians on the prescription of a dentist to attend patients to take impressions and fit, insert, construct, repair or renew artificial dentures or restorative dental appliances. It. was stated by the association that its members, who were proprietors of dental laboratories, were all qualified technicians of 15 years or more experience who employed more than 100 dental technicians in all stages of training and experience. The effect of the statutes, it was stated, was to make it. illegal, for a dental technician making artificial dentures to have any contact with the person for whom dentures were being made.
