Aust. Freight & Fares To N.Z. Raised
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 1. Ail shipping companies operating in the Tasman have increased by 25 per cent the fares and freights payable in Australia for transport to New Zealand, it was announced in Wellington last night. This follows a similar decision by the airline companies and is effective immediately. The reason is the appreciation of the New Zealand pound in terms of the Australian pound.
