SYDNEY, Aug. 27. . The John Lysaght Australia Proprie- . . tary-Limited will spend £4,500,000 on .“ a plant extension programme at Port Kembla. The completed programme Will add MO,OOO tons a year to the present Australian sheet steel production of 240,000 tons a year. The managing director, Mr. R. /'.'Parry Okeden, said that the directors •were planning that the new machinery should be fully in operation by 1955. This expansion was in addition to the £775,000 which, it was announced last year, would be spent on a new reversing mill for the Commonwealth rolling mill. i, At Newcastle the existing plant -7- would be improved and modern equipment added, making possible the rolling of special steels and the manufacture of other special lines not vet produced in Australia,
