NEW APPOINTMENT

Mr D. O. Walker, formerly of the staff of the telegraph engineer’s office in Gisborne and latterly of Wellington, has tendered his resignation to the Post and Telegraph Department to take up an appointment as administrative officer of the University of New Zealand. Mr. Walker, who was chosen from among 37 applicants, is well qualified in accountancy and costing, and also possesses secretarial qualifications which should be of considerable advantage to him in his new sphere. During his residence in Gisborne Mr. Walker was prominent in the field and administrative work of the Scout Movement. He was transferred to Wellington in 1946.
