EVE OF DEPARTURE presentations TO MR. GARLAND

There has been a round of farewells in Gisborne in honour of Mr. K. B. Garland, who leaves Gisborne on Tuesday cn transfer to Palmerston North as manager of Messrs. Dalgety and Company s branch there. Members of the staff of Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, in Gisborne. met after work on Thursday afternoon to tender farewell lo their manager during the past 10 years, Mr. K. B. Garland, who leaves Gisborne on Tuesday lor Palmerston North. He lias been transferred as manager of lue branch there. Departmental officers and others spoke highly of Mr. Garland as the Gisborne manager and extended to Mr. and Mrs. Garland their best wishes for the future. The departing manager was presented with a mantle clock, suitably engraved. Mr. Garland thanked the speakers for their kindly remarks and said it was with regret that he was severing his connection with the stafl in Gisborne. 'His association with the branch here had been most pleasant. Farwellcd By Colleagues There was a full representation of stock and station agents, woolbrokers and stock auctioneers at an informal gathering arranged by members of the Gisborne Stock and Station Agents’ Association and Gisborne Woolbrokers' Association and held in the lounge of the Gisborne Hotel yesterday to farewell Mr. Garland. All the speakers praised the work done by Mr. Garland during his 10 years in Gisborne. The best wishes of the assembly were conveyed to Mr. Garland and his family. Air. Garland was congratulated on his promotion, and a presentation made on behalf of members of the two associations. Mr. Garland replied, thanking all those present for their good wishes. Mr. I. Bonifant, Mr. Garland's successor. was later introduced to those uresent.
