Doreen.—A tribute of love to the memory of my grandson. Arthur William Doreen, 'killed on active service at Los Negros, August 29th. 1945. A day of remembrance, a sad one to recall, You will be remembered no matter how long. Memories are treasures no one can steal. x Death leaves a wound no one can heal. —Remembered by Grandma. Doreen. —ln saddest and loving memory of our dear Arthur, who was killed in action at Los Negros on Aug. 29th. 1945. They told us you were gone, We can’t believe it’s true. We prayed that they were wrong, And we’ll be seeing you. We long for your safe returning, And the clasp of your loving hand. But God has postponed that meeting ’Twill be in a better land. —Loved and always remembered by your mother, Aunty Kate, Uncle Kura, and your brother Darcy. To the comrades of F/Sgt. Arthur Doreen, killed on active service at Los Negros on August 29th, 1945. They bade no one a last farewell, They said good-bye to no one.
