HIGH COST OF LIVING BRITONS' HEADACHE

LONDON. June 22.

The cost of living has become their chief headache for the majority of Britons, according to a Gallup Poll. Asked “What is the main problem at present facing you and your family?” 51 per cent said that it was the cost of living. This compares with 26 per cent who gave the same answer in a poll last January. Twenty-one per cent answered “Food shortage,” compared with 25 per cent last January; 16 per cent said “Housing,” compared with 11 per cent; 9 per cent said “Clothing shortage,” 6 per cent answered “Health,” 8 per cent made no reply.
