OBITUARY

MR. JOHN GALLIE

The death occurred recently in Wellington of Mr. John Gallic in his ninety-fifth year. Mr. Gallic was born in Dunedin, and was one of the earliest hoarding students at Nelson Boys’ College. lie went into business in Dunedin after leaving school, and later transferred to the Wairarapa, where after a time he transferred his attentions to sheepfarming. He had been living in retirement in Wellington for the past 35 years, taking an interest in bowls, until advancing age precluded his following this sport. He is survived by two daughters. Mrs. L- B. Tullock, Whatatutu, and Miss Gallic. Wellington; and two sons, Mr. Donald Gallic, Sydney, and Mr. Clyo Gallie, Auckland. Three sons predeceased him, they being Captain Oscar Gallie, D. 5.0., M.C., and Captain Victor Gallie, M.C., Croix de Guerre, both of whom served in the Royal Field Artillery in the First World War, and Mr. Montague Gallie. who was. an invalid for the greater part of his life.
