RECORD PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICITY

(P.A.) WELLINGTON. July 20. A record quantity of electric power was generated in the North Island for the week ended on Sunday, according to the State Hydro-Electric Department.

The North Island power authorities exceeded the allocation by 4.33 per cent. A total of 33,294,000 units were allocated and 34,690,000 units were used. In the South Island the consumption was 1.91 per cent, or 263,000 units above above the allotted figure.

Penicillin For Mastitis

Supplies of penicillin for the treatment of mastitis should be available early next month. Stocks will be carried by chemists and the Gisborne Veterinary Club. Supplies obtained from chemists will require the prescription of a veterinary officer.

Cyclist Injured While cycling towards his home in Childers road on Monday, a civil servant, Mr. Herbet Fisher Allan, came into collision with a truck and received injuries which necessitated his admittance to the Cook Hospital.
