Tho barque Pamir was within COO miles of the coast of South America at G. 30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the latest message received from the ship by the Union Steam Ship Company. She was nearly duo east of Rio de Janeiro and was steering eastwards towards the Cape of Good Hope when winds permitted. Ail aboard were well. She had made a good run of just over 900 miles in the past week, averaging six knots. She has about COO miles to go to the south before she meets the permanent westerly winds, which will carry her to New Zealand, VETERAN STEAMER NARBADA When the 8900-ton vessel Narbada sails from Auckland for the United Kingdom on July 10 with a cargo of butter and frozen goods, she will sever a 32-year-old connection with the New Zealand trade. Operated by the Union Steam Ship Company, the steamer is due for a major survey and a decision about her future will be reached after she arrives in England. It is probable that she will he disposed of by the owners. -
